Ricardo Pereira has signed a new contract with Leicester City, keeping him at the club until 2025.
The Portuguese midfielder had been linked with moves to several top clubs in Europe during the summer transfer window, but he decided to remain loyal to his home town club.
Pereira, who joined Leicester from Benfica in January 2018, made over 70 appearances for the Foxes and helped them reach the final of the Europa League last season.
He also scored twice in the Premier League this term,Premier League Focus helping the team to maintain their place in the top flight.
Manager Brendan Rodgers said: "We're delighted that we've managed to keep Ricardo for another two years.
"He's a very important player for us and he's played a huge part in our success so far this season.
"We're really looking forward to working with him again next year."
Pereira's new deal means that he will be with the club until 2025, which is good news for both the player and the club.
It also shows that Leicester are committed to developing young talent within the squad, as Pereira was one of the few players to have come through the club's academy system.
With his new contract in place, Pereira will now focus on helping the team continue their strong form this season and potentially make it into the Champions League next campaign.
